Eunice Yoon – Dental Assistant
I was born and raised in South Korea for 12 years before I moved to California with my family. After about a year, we moved to Fairfax and have been living in this area since. As a 1.5 generation, I understand 2 totally different cultures: Korean and American. This not only allows me to be bilingual in Korean and English, but also to appreciate each culture. I love to travel to different countries and experience their unique lifestyle. My most memorable trips are to Cancun and India.
I finished middle school and high school in Fairfax. Also, I recently graduated from Virginia Tech in December 2018 with Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Minor in Spanish. After I took Spanish in high school, I fell in love with the language and Hispanic culture. So, I had learned it for 6 more years! Although it is a bit rusty, I like to believe that I can survive in a Spanish-speaking country with it.
When I was at Virginia Tech, I engaged in many clubs including Pre-Dental Club, in which I volunteered in local elementary schools teaching oral hygiene and shared the goal of becoming a dentist. Before I started working as a dental assistant at Premier Smiles, I worked in a dental lab for many summers and shadowed general dentists in Blacksburg, Virginia. I love working in dentistry because it delivers a harmony of meticulous work and extensive oral healthcare to each patient. I get so satisfied and happy when a patient leaves with a smile after the treatment. I live by the motto “give back what you receive.” Therefore, I am always eager to provide my best care to every patient. Currently, I am preparing to attend a dental school in the future. But before I do, I hope to go on a mission trip to serve the communities in need.
Outside of work, I like to play flag football or watch any sports games with my friends. In addition, my me-time activities are watching movies or Friends (favorite show) on Netflix and cross-stitching.
